Synopsis
Het heeft al tien jaar niet meer geregend. In de droge, dorre wildernis die is ontstaan zijn de regels van de maatschappij simpelweg weggewaaid. Meedogenloze krijgsheren maken de dienst uit. Met grof geweld veroveren ze nederzettingen bij diepe bronnen waaruit het schaarse water wordt gepompt. Kendal en Dean zijn twee tieners die bij een verborgen bron wonen. Ze delen het beetje water dat deze oplevert met een nabijgelegen nederzetting. Maar als de bende van de sadistische Carson hen op het spoor komt, bezwijken de inwoners onder hun geweld en intimidatie. Ze verraden Kendal en Dean en de twee zijn gedwongen hun waardevolle bezit te verdedigen. Wanneer Dean levensgevaarlijk gewond raakt staat Kendal er alleen voor. Door zorgvuldige planning en keihard toe te slaan op het juiste moment, weet ze de waterrovers nog op afstand te houden. Maar de overmacht is enorm. Dan krijgt ze hulp uit onverwachte hoek…
Synopsis
It has not rained for ten years. In the dry, barren wasteland that has arisen the rules of society have simply blown away in the wind. Ruthless warlords are the law of the land. They violently conquer settlements around deep wells from which the remaining bit of water is pumped. Kendal and Dean are two tweens who live at a hidden well. They share the little water it provides with a nearby settlement. But when the gang of the sadistic Carson discovers them, the settlers succumb to their violence and intimidation. They betray Dean and Kendal and they are forced to defend their precious possession. When Dean gets mortally injured Kendal is on her own. With careful planning and ruthless strikes at the right moment she’s able to repel the water robbers for a while. But she’s vastly outnumbered. But then unexpected help arrives…
